BEADING IS MY PASSION

My MISSION is to design beautiful handmade beaded pieces of unique style and unsurpassed quality.

My VISION is that, through the pieces I create, I will spread passion and culture that will be touched by the world.

My name is Jeanette Dailey Bobby and I am a Bead Embroidery Artist. I call myself that because almost all my pieces are created using a needle and thread. Not many people choose to go into this type of artistry because it is very tedious and incredibly time consuming. But, I am hooked! Some of the beads I use are the smallest beads being sold. I actually have to wear special eyeglasses when beading (not very glamorous!). There is never a bead too small for me! The result of all my efforts are heirloom quality pieces that anyone would be proud to pass down from one generation to the next.

The best part of being an Bead Embroidery Artist, is that I am continually learning new methods of designing. Not only am I forever learning new stitches, but also how to incorporate all the millions of beads, crystals and pearls that I have at my disposal.

I live in Milwaukee, WI with my wonderful husband. My most enjoyable creative moments are when I seclude myself in my studio while listening to Jazz music. The outside world just disappears...until I get hungry, of course.

I started beading in 2008 when a co-worker (thank you Marlene) brought in a bracelet that she had beaded. I honestly thought I would never be able to make such a beautiful thing, but Marlene encouraged me to give it a try. And that, was the beginning for me.

Since then, I've dabbled in all kinds of jewelry making from simple stringing, wire wrapping to metalsmithing. In 2011, I decided to take an online Jewelry Design Course through the New York Institute of Art and Design (NYIAD). It took me 3 years to complete, but it was well worth all my time and effort!

It's been only 3 years since I found my true creative passion in Bead Embroidery. I'm not sure why I love it so much. I think I might take after my Grandmother who would make the most incredible doilies with a technique called Tatting. Tatting is a technique for handcrafting a particularly durable lace from a series of knots and loops. Very similar to the Bead Embroidery techniques.
